These serve as a copy and shadow of the heavenly things, as Moses was warned when he was about to complete the tabernacle. For He said, Be careful that you make everything according to the pattern that was shown to you on the mountain. (Heb 8:5)
There were three items contained in the Ark of God’s Covenant: the staff of Aaron, the tablets of the law, and the golden jar of manna. The STAFF represents CALLING. Aaron’s staff budded with almond blossoms as a sign to all of Israel that the Aaronic line was called of God to serve as the Old Testament priesthood.
The tablets of the LAW speak of SPIRITUAL AUTHORITY. All things in Heaven and Hell are governed by God’s Holy Law. Even satan, himself, must obey it and may act as destroyer only where the law has been violated.
…the curse without cause shall not come. (Pro 26:2)
The MANNA speaks of WISDOM. Unlike ordinary manna which was available to all, this Holy manna was hidden in a golden vessel, symbolic of the precious value of God’s special wisdom and counsel to his children.
Each of these amazing gifts awaits the child of God who enters by the true gate with a hungry heart and a thirsty spirit. When I approach God in this way to know the destiny He has reserved exclusively for me, I will receive my CALLING to it, the AUTHORITY to walk boldly in it, and the WISDOM to advance and protect it until my purpose is fully realized in the glory of Christ on earth.
There are no shortcuts and God is not obligated to a single one of His promises if we do not come according to His established pattern, meaning I appear daily before His altar of confession, to wash in His laver of repentance, eat the showbread of His Word, be enlightened by the candlestick of His rhema, and commune with Him in prayer.
Then, and only then, am I ready to enter the Holy of Holies and receive the promise of my destiny in His CALLING, AUTHORITY, and WISDOM.
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he hears us: (1Jn 5:14)
